Emergency Policy

Our Desire To Serve

Emergency calls received outside normal business hours will be screened and addressed on a priority basis.

Due to the increased demand for emergency services in our area, we have found that there is a necessity to develop an emergency policy to best serve our all of our clients and patients. Our goal is to provide the best service possible and continue to serve an excellent standard of care in the most timely manner, which requires a prioritization of our services.

  • Preference will be given to existing clients and patients with new patients being accommodated whenever possible.

  • We recommend that all clients have up-to-date forms on file with our office for all patients and regular vaccines, etc. be kept current.

  • Each case will be evaluated individually, based on severity of symptoms and patient condition based on the description of symptoms/conditions provided.

  • Recommendations for immediate care will be provided if relevant or possible depending on owner ability and supplies. Please visit some of our provided resources below to get started.

Please visit our CONTACT page for office hours and use our form to get in touch.

Recommended Emergency Supplies & Resources

We recommend that all equine owners have a well-stocked first aid supply cabinet to be able to accommodate many of the incidents that can occur, especially when aid may be given to your horse even before the veterinarian is able to arrive. Below are some resources that can help to get you started and there are many other valuable resources available on the internet from industry leaders and publications. We also recommend enrolling in an Equi-First Aid course either online or locally to be able to become more familiar with some of the situations where you can be an equine “first responder.”
